Hello! I'm Ethan. I am currently studying at the University of Southern California for my PhD in the Electrophysics program in the Ming Hsieh ECE Department.
I am researching quantum optics experiments with single-photon emitting quantum dots with Professor Anupam Madhukar. I love math, physics, logic and math riddles, and skiing. Here is a list of riddles that I have attempted.
In my free time, I go backpacking and camping. Notable places include Thunder Bay, Appalachia, Cimarron, Baxter SP, and Hawaii
Volcano NP on the Big Island.
I also travel to organic, sustainable, regenerative farms to learn about healthy agriculture techniques and practices that will
one day be used to adapt farming to global warming and overpopulation. WWOOF has swept me away to Mayaguez, PR and
Westport, CA.
I graduated with a B.S. in physics from the University of Maryland College Park. Among other things, I worked on a project regarding topological photonics under Dr. Hafezi''s group here at UMD's Joint
Quantum Institute. I designed a research proposal modulating a photonic crystal ring resonator, leveraging
synthetic dimensions.
Spring of 2022, I studied abroad in Florence, Italy.
I previously did theoretical research on supersymmetry with Dr. Sylvester James Gates Jr.
