Hello! I'm Ethan. I am a physics undergraduate at the University of Maryland College Park. I love math, physics, logic and math riddles, and skiing. Here is a list of riddles that I have attempted.
In my free time, I go backpacking and camping. Notable places include Thunder Bay, Appalachia, Cimarron, Baxter SP, and Hawaii
Volcano NP on the Big Island.
I also travel to organic, sustainable, regenerative farms to learn about healthy agriculture techniques and practices that will
one day be used to adapt farming to global warming and overpopulation. WWOOF has swept me away to Mayaguez, PR and
Westport, CA.
I am now working on a project regarding topological photonics under Dr. Hafezi''s group here at UMD's Joint
Quantum Institute. I designed a research proposal modulating a photonic crystal ring resonator, leveraging
synthetic dimensions.
In the Fall of 2024, I will be going to the University of Southern California for my PhD in the Electrophysics program in the Ming Hsieh ECE Department. I will be working on optics and photonics
in low dimensions with Professors Mercedeh Khajavikhan and Demetrios Christodoulides
